The PPD print brokerage offers a team of experts with over 50 years of combined print and project management experience. We maintain longstanding relationships with print vendors in both Asia and the United States. Admired as purveyors of fine specialist print work, we are in receipt of many industry awards for our fine color reproduction work for both illustrative and photographic projects.

In addition to standard printing practices, PPD offers expertise in the fields of paper-engineering, laser die-cut technology, lenticular design, foil stamping and silkscreen. We are committed to sustainable publishing through the Global Releaf program, which plants two trees for every one tree used in the production of each book we print. Our design capabilities allow us to undertake the widest range of print-based projects. We print the smallest of pocket-books to oversized coffee-table books. PPD also develops book plus, toys, and multi-component packaged products.

Our signature clamshell cases for collectible books are recognized as the industry standard for high-end publications. Our print partners cover all areas of the manufacturing process making it easy for us to marry packaging propositions to the appropriate vendors. Over the years we have become experts in boxed book sets, boxed card decks and packaged multi-component products. Our in-house design team and our sales staff are on hand to advise on packaging options and work with clients to create the best packaging for any given product.

PRINT

PPD’s combined years of experience in the print industry give the company clear advantages in being able to realize projects successfully. The company is respected for our expertise with color separation and many awards have been conferred on books that we have printed. We are specialists in high-resolution four-color printing, we work with duotones and quadratones and are experts at printing using soy based ink.

We use ink-on-paper press proofs; the industry standard and the most accurate and true-to-print proofing system in the world. We also offer highest quality paper selection available, as well as a comprehensive range of alternative and recycled paper stock options.

DESIGN

The design team and creative production staff at PPD work together to design, realize and manufacture projects that clients bring to the table at concept level. Many publishers present projects to PPD print-ready, while others utilize our full suite of design capabilities and expert staff.  Awards for design and art content are regularly bestowed on the company as PPD designers keep raising the benchmark of innovative book design year after year.

The design department, composed of experienced professionals drawn from across the print, publishing, film and animation industries, combine traditional expertise with state-of-the-art technology. For example, we print large run projects on Web Press while smaller projects are printed on conventional presses. PPD offers expert paper engineering, lenticular design, silkscreen processing, laser die-cut and all types of foil stamping.

From 300 line screen to high-resolution 4-color reproduction to duotones and special color quadratone, the technicians at PPD are known for their skill in reproducing images of the most exacting authors, artists photographers and designers. We offer digital wetproof options including CTP wetproofs and digital imaging. As print pioneers we are dedicated to developing sustainable strategies for the future of printing.
